After a couple of years hiatus, Mondaine just relaunched a new and slightly redesigned version of their iconic Quartz with a Stop2go complication, which mimics the Swiss train station clocks that are synchronised by a master clock by stopping two seconds earlier and then getting the prompt to simultaneously advance to the next minute. It’s truly a super cool feature that alone justifies what their are asking for: €669 with a SS bracelet or €619 with a vegan leather strap.
I noticed that in comparison to the earlier two iterations, they seem to have removed what I think were applied indices. That’s kind of a bummer as the dial looks flatter and a tad less striking now. Also they replaced the cool joystick-like crown with a push button actioned by a supplied pen, which functioning is yet quite unclear to me
Here are a few specs:
-Case size: 41 mm -316L Stainless steel case -12 mm thickness -Water resistance: 30 meters / 100 feet / 3 ATM -Superluminova backlight, applied on the back of hours and minutes hands -sapphire crystal
I hadn’t noticed that, but you are right: although the indicies still have some three-dimensionality, it looks like they’re now just printed onto a raised portion of the dial, rather than being applied.
It remains somewhat unclear to me even after watching the video!
