The Cowboys having shut out the Giants this year is a perfect time for the #2 QB to see some playing time. Why shouldn’t it be Lance? If the Cowboys truly believe Trey Lance is part of the future, the next 3 games are a perfect opportunity to play some snaps, albeit (hopefully) garbage time. And if the Cowboys are losing any of these three games, or if Dak actually gets hurt, well I guess none of it matters anyway.
The Cowboys know there are too many fans vested in Dak and if Trey where to play and have instant success then it would create a friction that would be problematic for the season. You won’t see Trey till training camp.
