When fans talk about Nadal’ AO 22 win there is very little respect because he ‘stole’ it from djokovic and would have virtually no chance to win if Djokovic played.
But Djokovics RG 23 win has no such claims about it. I’ve actually seen some fans even say it Nadal played djokovic would’ve bageled him…
Yeah this is what a lot of people don’t agree with which I find strange. Djokovic level in 2023 is insane and at least at the minimum he would’ve given 23 RG if fit Nadal a good fight.
Nadal beat medvedev at AO22 the best ranked player he could face at the time, playing some of his best tennis on hard court in years- so the whole didn’t make it past 8 AO QFs is bs there.
It all seems way too easy for Djokovic right now so definitely looking forward (and hopeful) for some other players to step up. Far too many guys have now had their day against him at a slam and gone on to lose
