Trade deadline makes sense in real life. But in fantasy? Where most leagues allow other players to vote against trades and commissioner veto them? What even is the point? If it’s an uneven or unfair trade, it won’t go through. So why even put up a deadline?

    I got 2 reasons

    • first, it creates a sense of urgency. Having a deadline forces a decision and thus a trade would be more probable as opposed to no deadline where they can wait a week
    • second, teams out of contention can do lop sided trades because the other team is friends with them but isn’t veto worthy. They get 0 impact their friend gets an advantage. Now if you say well the league could veto, sure but I’m saying it’s a trade that favors the playoff contender but isn’t stupid, how do you draw the line.
