I really wish more devs made games like Alan Wake 2. Games that really break out of traditional genres and molds, that take chances. The Old Gods of Asgard section I think really proves how popular unusual moments in games are with people, it’s everyone’s favorite part, it’s crazy to think that Remedy almost cut the whole section. Though at the same time I guess what makes Alan Wake 2 so special is that there isn’t really anything like it out there. Right now, Baldur’s Gate 3 and Alan Wake 2 are tied for GOTY for me. Overall it’s been an excellent year for games, one of the best in recent memory.
