An Alaskan Lions fan here, a handful of us flew down to LA for the weekend for a mini vacation that included Disney, Venice Beach and the DET v LA game tomorrow. I’ve been a fan since I started playing football some 15 years ago, the same year Stafford was drafted. I figured no one would give me a hard time about Bandwagonning an 0-16 squad, right?

Last game I went to was in Seattle a couple years ago during Russel Wilson’s final campaign in the PNW. Alaska has a big Seahawks following since Seattle is our closest metropolitan neighbor.

I remember Seahawks fans heckling us all game on the way to that 50 burger beat down. Even though they were improving, You wouldn’t have seen many confident and enthusiastic lions faces among those in attendance.

Fast forward to the last couple days visiting LA: seeing lions fans proudly sporting DET gear enjoying Venice on the road trip, high fiving in the streets, asking “are you going to the game?” It’s going to be a lot of fun tomorrow at the game. Win or lose, Dan Campbell, Brad Holmes and the rest of this organization have given this fan base reason to believe and it’s beautiful to see.
