It seems that channel 11 is the quietest with the few that are on it having a low signal strength to me anyway. However, my router allows for channels 12 and 13 (UK so i think i can use these normally). I know that overlap is not a good idea and generally you should stick to 1, 6 and 11 only but 13 is right at the edge of the spectrum and should only effect those on 11 as if i was on 11 right? One post similar to this says go for it. On the other hand, everyone can generally agree what overlapping channels such as 3 or 4 are a no go which also implies 13 is out right? Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers

Scan your home, with your Wi-Fi device. It will show you which frequencies are empty or not used much. Most modern Wi-Fi solutions like Unifi will allow you to optimize your Wi-Fi automatically so it will adjust channels every now and then if a new device with interference popped up.
