So I started a newsletter about 3.5 months ago as purely a passion project. I’ve always wanted to help people become more self-aware and understand why they aren’t reaching their goals. So I decided to write about personal development and curate most my content mixed with personal experience.
About 2 weeks after I started my newsletter I figured out that a lot of money can be made from newsletters as many people turn it into a business. I mean, how often do you hear of newsletters as a business model?!?
Most people if they just SLIGHTLY know what they’re doing can make about 50-75 cents per subscriber /month. So if you have 10,000 subs, that’s $5k-7.5k/month. Newsletter subscribers tend to be much more engaged with content and have a much higher open rate than social media platforms.
I currently have 700+ subscribers and my open rate is 42%, oppose to social media platforms which mostly have around a 1% engagement/open rate (depending on platform). Because of these extremely high engagement rates, your subscribers hold MUCH more value, hence giving you ad placement opportunities much sooner.
It may sound crazy, but I believe newsletters are the next big thing in the entrepreneurial/business community (next 5 years). I mean look at how quickly people are scrolling on tiktoks and instagram reels now… brand need to capture attention in half a second.

Orrrrr, instead of wasting money on promos and ads on social media, they can spend half the money with 5x better results on a newsletter.
So if you have something you really want to write or a general message you want to convey, think about starting a newsletter! Obviously you have to be passionate and you shouldn’t just do it for the money because you won’t last.
A newsletter, like everything else, takes consistency.
So good luck!

How do you keep coming up with content ideas consistently?

This is something I thought would be an issue before I started. I personally believe I can come up with content ideas for two reasons.

      1. I post 1x/week. Which means Im not rinsing my brain constantly.

      2. Im completely genuine about personal development and I myself am constantly learning. Im completely devoted to this newsletter, so that means Im constantly thinking about it, therefore translating to mental awareness of possible topics I see.

Then I write down my topics for future dates ahead of time
