If the Texans had a proven zone RB (think Arian Foster type), we’d be moving the ball much better on the ground than with any of the current backs on the roster. He’d be able to take advantage of the times the O-Line gets it right. Arian had high-level vision and anticipation. Not to mention speed and size. And while he’d be a significant upgrade over what the Texans have now, he’d only be able to do so much behind this O-Line. They’re not the most talented run blockers to begin with, its their first season in a new system, and they’ve had no continuity within the personnel group. Injuries have delayed the development of the run game.
If the Texans bolster the middle of the O-Line (G-C-G) in the off-season, and get it right, the AFC South is in trouble. If they do that, and upgrade at RB, they’ll be a real tough out in the playoffs. If they make the right moves on the O-Line, land a scheme fit at RB, -and- land a stud on the D-Line, they’ll be a legit threat to win it all.
