Some of the S-class features are dead-ends though, and are dropped later on or never appear in mainstream cars (electrically adjustable, memory center rearview mirror, knurled “self cleaning” tail lights, soft-close doors, double-pane windows, water-heated front windscreen)
Generally speaking, look at what is being offered on the Mercedes S-class in each decade and you will see it in a Toyota Camry 10 years later.
Stuff like ABS (1976), SRS Airbag (1975), Moving map GPS (1996), Backup sensors (1996), pyrotechnic pre-tensioners, keyless entry, key-less start, radar cruise control, lane-keep assist etc etc
