Title. Starting today, my PC just decided to overlay some funking download/buy/etc window while I was gaming competitively. Literally every 5 seconds, window popped up ingame as well, like it got overlaid onto the game, every ~10s. Needless to say it ruined the match and my gameplay experience as well.

I’ve taken considerable amount of effort to make sure Windows is as “dumb” as it can be and doesn’t bother me while gaming, which worked fine until now. I’ve looked and I don’t even HAVE the fucking O365 installed. Nowhere in Program Files, nowhere in Control Panel (I knew for a fact I didn’t have it but checked either way). What can I do to permanently disable it, and prevent my damn OS from putting it into my face? I’ve already disabled auto updates/etc which can bother me while gaming, as well as some security features, and I’ve had no issues in 5 years, but now that this has started, it bothers me a lot.

I do work in IT support, but never seen sg. like this in my ~7 years of work, nor on my ~18 years of gaming life. Is there sg in the registry I can edit still to disable eithr O365 or any and all updates to any MS SWs (which I suspect it might have been)?

Comment edit as I’m on mobile on the street now: I’ve had this PC since 2018 and have NEVER EVER experienced something like this.
