At his peak, drexler was the best shooting guard in the league second only to MJ. My question is how well do you think his athleticism and skill would transfer in todays game. What player(s) would you compare him to, and where would you rank him? In my mind I see him as a prime Demar Derozan type player which is meant as no slight to either one of them.

    u/jumboponcho raised the point I was going to. Clyde couldn’t go left in isolation. I think his handle was underrated…but it’s still not up to snuff for a star. He could handle in transition, but he didn’t have much shake. As a result, his game was heavily based on pull up jumpers, spot up jumpers, with curls and isolations in the mid post that saw him be able to use his athleticism to attack the basket on the move without taking too many dribbles. Obviously also dynamic in transition and off cuts.

    The increased space would surely would benefit Clyde but don’t think he could be a star in this era. Not a good enough ballhandler, not a good enough perimeter shooter.
