This is my first year of studying computer science in the university and I’m willing to buy a new computer that will serve me well for these 4 years. I have two options:
Dell latitude with ram 16 GB, ssd 1TB , intel core i7 11th gen, CPU tiger lake, quad-core, speed of 3.0ghz, turbo frequency 4.8GHZ;
The other one is acer aspire 5 spin, ram of 16GB, ssd 1TB, intel core i7 13th gen, CPU raptor lake, 10 cores, it has cpu speed of 1.2 GHz and performance cores 1.7Ghz, turbo boost speed up to 5.5GHz, Efficient Cores 1.2GHz.
Could anyone recommend me which one to get? Which one will be faster and have a better performance and be a good computer for programming?
do you plan on using the same laptop for a long time? do you think you’ll need a durable and rugged laptop that will last years? if so, i suggest a thinkpad. there’s a great second-hand market for them, try looking around on ebay i suppose
