Has anybody purchased an EV but not had the luxury of a home charger? If so how do you manage. Getting a company car soon and been considering a PHEV as I don’t have the luxury of a wall charger where I live. The BIK tax breaks look more appealing with a full EV but is it possible to use public chargers when doing 300+ miles per week?
I know two people in this situation. One of them has free supercharging from Tesla for as long as he owns his car so he charges at superchargers. And there’s one that’s fairly close to his home so it works out well. One of my employees just bought an EV and he discovered very quickly not charging at home Was a real problem because of the mileage that he needs to do. He’s getting a charger installed this week. He’s got 380 km optimum conditions but real world he probably has about 300 km range. We drive anywhere from 150 to almost 300 km a chef so he needs to have charging at home so he starts off the night fully charged. I have a charger at my place so he can top up when he picks up his inventory but He’s not starting off from full so it still eats up time.
