Introduction

I just want to throw some numbers out there to highlight what Payton Pritchard is doing well. A lot has been said about what people are upset about, (i.e. his shooting), but someone should probably say something about what he’s doing well. So here’s some rankings on the play-making prowess of pure point fast Payton Pritchard, aka PPOPPFastPP. (yes this post is mostly for the purpose of alliteration in the title and specifically the amount of PP’s)

Rank Among All Players On The Team

  • AST%: 2nd. Behind only Jrue
  • AST/TOV Ratio: 2nd. Behind only Luke Kornet (didn’t expect this lol)
  • AST Ratio: 1st. Yes, better than White and Jrue
  • AST/36: 1st
  • ORtg: 3rd. Behind only White and Tatum.

Rank Among All Players That Have Played At Least 5 Games And Played In At Least 10mpg

  • AST%: 62nd. Just 5 spots behind known pure point guard Mike Conley
  • AST Ratio: 12th. 2 spots below arguably the best pure point guard in the game: Tyrese Haliburton. Ahead of other pure point guards like TJ McConnell and Tyus Jones
  • AST/TOV Ratio: 16th. On par with pure point guards TJ McConnell and Tyus Jones
  • AST/36: 36th. Just behind Tyus Jones, but ahead of Mike Conley.
  • ORtg: 32nd. Better than pretty much every pure point not named Haliburton or Luka, if you count him as a pure point.

Conclusion

The PPOPPFastPP has been good. Arguably the best on the team and arguably one of the best bench point guards in the league in terms of play-making. Once his shot starts to fall, it’s over folks.

Only time to hit the panic button for PP’s play is if his shot isn’t falling by the end of January, then Brad might need to make some moves. But for the moment, he’s in the right spots and making better decisions each game. He’ll be just fine
