Whether the sports media, or some Vikings fans I know seem to have Josh pegged as a Hero, that will probably just be a backup for us in the end. I’ve been looking at his history, and his currently level of play and… Why not Dobbs? His pocket awareness is insane, his accuracy is on point, his arm is there, he can run the ball, he’s smart. I just don’t fully understand why’s there’s a stigma of once a backup always a backup mentality.

If Dobbs keeps looking how he has been, or look even better, I’m fully on board with Dobbs as the starter for good.

I think it’s because the more bad or unspectacular film a QB has put up, the more you’re likely to think that a stretch of good play is the result of a coach or a supporting cast or luck.

And if you are convinced it’s the later, you’re better off trying to find someone cheaper.

I think what it’ll boil down to at the end of the year, assuming he continues to play well enough that we’ll be considering him as a long term option, is how much Dobbs is gonna command in free agency versus how much value he adds to the team over someone like Hall.
