Anybody else think the music played in the stadium is god awful? When Ray/Suggs we’re here, we’d get a couple bangers each game that got the players and fans hype together. The stadium now just plays shitty rock music and there’s no engagement from anyone under the age of 50.
There’s not as much engagement cuz our fanbase is way too serious. I’ve said it here for years, cuz it’s true. You see it in this sub constantly, we don’t post memes that often and the ones that get posted are frequently downvoted to oblivion cuz the blind faith dipshits don’t like that there’s truth to the meme and are incapable of hearing any criticism of the team. It needs to be said: y’all gotta lighten tf up. Lions have been garbage for decades but they’re capable of having fun. Pretty much every other team has more reason to complain about their team not being as consistent, yet our fanbase is constantly waaaaay too serious. We’re too quick to snipe and attack each other, I see it frequently in our fanbase. Love y’all, but my god some of you gotta lighten up.
I know there’s some people that are gonna not want to hear it, but it’s true. We’re an insanely spoiled fanbase with a great owner, good drafting, and we’ve never had more than 3 losing seasons in a row. We’ve won more SBs than half the NFL despite being the 2nd youngest team, and have the 3rd highest win % as a franchise. Despite that, our fanbase is constantly bitter and wanting more. I want more too, I’m not satisfied with a decent record and no playoff wins, but jfc y’all need to be realistic here. You know how hard it is to win a SB? Like half the NFL has never won one and we’ve won 2 in 30 years. Whole reason our fans feel like we’re competitive but not true SB contenders is BECAUSE we’re a very good team that’s consistently good.
No one’s saying be happy after a loss, be satisfied with not making a playoff run etc. I’m specifically stating this cuz if I didn’t, I guarantee 1 of the idiot blind faithers would say something dumb like that. What I’m saying is our fanbase is incredibly spoiled by years of consistency, and that tends to cross over into social media and in person games. Plenty of fans are having a great time at games, but the reason you see such over-seriousness in our fanbase is cuz this isn’t a Reddit thing or Twitter thing, it has to do with the attitude of our fans.
Don’t be satisfied with bad coaching/injuries/etc, but be realistic, be grateful, and lighten up. Sports is supposed to be fun, and that’s something some of you need to remember.
