Pretty self explanatory title. Wilks showed he could use what he had available to him and improvise. In a sport where your constantly dealing with injuries that would be my number 1 priority in coaching. You already had an interim coach who showed he had the ability to make the team much better by making adjustments tailored to our personnel. It almost never happens that the HC gets fired and then the interim coach dramatically improves the team. It was idiotic not to keep rolling with him. Tepper just wants to be flashy but all the things required to win are the boring stuff that Tepper wants no part of. I’ve been a fan of the Panthers since I was a kid but this owner is really trying to make me not be it feels like.

They (correctly in my opinion) wanted a new scheme and offensive minded head coach for their new QB. The power run scheme simply doesn’t maximize a QB and has 0 chance of ever competing with good teams (there is a reason no competent teams/QBs run it).

The hope is short-term pain for long-term gain, but I’m guessing this is much more painful than expected lol
