Because I thought that PFF’s midseason All-Pro list wasn’t the best, I thought I’d post my own team. Few caveats to this. I’m a week late, so instead of counting all stats through week 9, I’m counting all stats through week 10. I’m not going to pretend to know what I’m talking about for offensive line, so I’ll only be posting PFF’s team. I also won’t pretend that I know how to judge long snappers and “special teamers.” Finally, PFF includes flex positions for offense and defense. I’ll list them, but I won’t add my own since the AP doesn’t have one (anymore). I’d love to hear everyone’s thoughts.

Offense:

My QBs: Jalen Hurts (1st-Team), Tua Tagovailoa (2nd-Team)

PFF QBs: Lamar Jackson (1st-Team), Josh Allen (2nd-Team)

This was one of the biggest shocks to me. Jackson is playing great, but to totally ignore Hurts and what he’s done again this year is insanity to me. Hurts is leading the best team to a number 1 seed right now and if he continues, he deserves the 1st-Team nod along with MVP. Josh Allen as the second team is also insane. The man is fun to watch because he’s a gunslinger, but live by the gunslinger, die by the gunslinger and the Bills die more often than not.

My RBs: Christian McCaffrey (1st-Team), Derrick Henry (2nd-Team)

PFF RBs: Derrick Henry (1st-Team), Raheem Mostert (2nd-Team)

I’m not too mad about PFF’s selections. I think McCaffrey should get the nod though as he’s having another insane season. Henry is also doing what he does. Mostert would make the 3rd-Team right now for me if it existed, but if Henry or McCaffrey slow down at all, he could easily leapfrog them for an All-Pro selection.

My WRs: Tyreek Hill (1st-Team), AJ Brown (1st-Team), Stephon Diggs (2nd-Team), CeeDee Lamb (2nd-Team)

PFF WRs: Tyreek Hill (1st-Team), AJ Brown (1st-Team), CeeDee Lamb (2nd-Team), Justin Jefferson (2nd-Team)

Again, not very different here, but Jefferson being selected was a bit of a head scratcher. After week 8 (when PFF published) Jefferson only had 36 catches for 571 yards and 3 TDs.

My TEs: Mark Andrews (1st-Team), TJ Hockenson (2nd-Team)

PFF TEs: Travis Kelce (1st-Team), George Kittle (2nd-Team)

Andrews to me has been far and away the best TE this year for me. Hockenson has some better stats, but he is force fed a little (95 targets when writing this), plus Andrews is a great blocker. Kittle being on PFF’s 2nd-Team isn’t an awful choice, but it felt like they went with name recognition here, especially with Kelce.

PFF Offensive Flex: Brandon Aiyuk (1st-Team), Stefon Diggs (2nd-Team)

Offensive line PFF: LT – Christian Darrisaw (1st-Team), Kolton Miller (2nd-Team), LG – Tyler Smith (1st-Team), Joe Thuney (2nd-Team), C – Jason Kelce (1st-Team), Ryan Kelly (2nd-Team), RG – Kevin Dotson (1st-Team), Chris Lindstrom (2nd-Team), RT – Penei Sewell (1st-Team), Lane Johnson (2nd-Team)

Defense:

My Defensive Interior: Quinnen Williams (1st-Team), Aaron Donald (1st-Team), Jalen Carter (2nd-Team), Chris Jones (2nd-Team)

PFF Defensive Interior: Dexter Lawrence (1st-Team), Quinnen Williams (1st-Team), Jalen Carter (2nd-Team), Aaron Donald (2nd-Team)

Again, not the craziest team selections. I just think Dexter Lawrence is more fringe.

My Edge Rushers: TJ Watt (1st-Team), Myles Garrett (2nd-Team), Maxx Crosby (2nd-Team), Danielle Hunter (2nd-Team)

PFF Edge Rushers: Nick Bosa (1st-Team), Myles Garrett (1st-Team), TJ Watt (2nd-Team), Maxx Crosby (2nd-Team)

My biggest gripe with PFF is how much they praise Bosa, but hate on Watt. In my opinion Watt is the Defensive Player of the Year, with Garrett being a close runner up. To include Bosa on either team right now is a crime. Watt is dragging that Steelers defense to dominate and win – I’m still not sure how they have a winning record.

My LBs: Fred Warner (1st-Team), Foye Oluokun (1st-Team), Roquan Smith (2nd-Team), Kyzir White (2nd-Team)

PFF LBs: Demario Davis (1st-Team), Roquan Smith (1st-Team), CJ Mosley (2nd-Team), Quincy Williams (2nd-Team)

Fred Warner not being on either PFF team is egregious. He is the best linebacker in football and one of my dark horse candidates for DPoY. Oluokun was overlooked…again. Roquan belongs on a team for sure, I just think it should be second. White is a very overlooked LB on a very bad team.

My CBs: DaRon Bland (1st-Team), Patrick Surtain II (1st-Team), Geno Stone (2nd-Team), Sauce Gardner (2nd-Team)

PFF CBs: Jaylon Johnson (1st-Team), Paulson Adebo (1st-Team), Darious Williams (2nd-Team), Sauce Gardner (2nd-Team)

CB is always a weird position. Do you like flashy INTs and return TDs, but can get burned (think Trevon Diggs)? Or do you like shutdown corners that can remove a star WR from the game (think Darrelle Revis)? My team is a mix of both. I don’t necessarily think my team is much better than PFF. Oh, why’d I’d add PS2? Because I’m a Broncos fan. See, I can admit my bias, can you PFF?

My Safeties: Talanoa Hufanga (1st-Team), Jordan Whitehead (1st-Team), Justin Simmons (2nd-Team), Geno Stone (2nd-Team)

PFF Safeties: Jessie Bates III (1st-Team), Jevon Holland (1st-Team), Antoine Winfield (2nd-Team), Geno Stone (2nd-Team)

Safeties are somewhat similar to how I explained CBs. I do think they snubbed Hufanga and Whitehead without having them on either team. Again, I’m biased and think Simmons should be on a team.

PFF Defensive Flex: Trent McDuffie (1st-Team), DJ Reed (2nd-Team)

Special Teams:

My Ks: Harrison Butker (1st-Team), Dustin Hopkins (2nd-Team)

PFF Ks: Chase McLaughlin (1st-Team), Matt Gay (2nd-Team)

Butker deserves the 1st-Team spot – he’s 100% and has a 60 yarder.

My Ps: AJ Cole (1st-Team), Logan Cooke (2nd-Team)

PFF Ps: AJ Cole (1st-Team), Matt Gay (2nd-Team)

Punters are people too.

My Returners: Marvin Mims Jr. (1st-Team), Xavier Gipson (2nd-Team)

PFF Returners: Kavontae Turpin (1st-Team), Charlie Jones (2nd-Team)

I know I’m biased, but Mims is far and away the best returner this year.

TLDR: PFF All-Pro Teams weren’t the best. I posted mine. Do. you agree?

Josh Allen making it this year would take away the credibility of all pro teams
