I don’t know, maybe they can add a new tier?

Best remake/remaster of the year? There are so many it could work.

But now I don’t think it’s fair, it doesn’t offer anything new, it’s just an old game with new graphics and few changes at best to flesh out some character and action sequences more, game of the year should be that years NEW game, new saying in gaming world, something fresh and evolutionary. Doesn’t matter how good of the game it is, it’s still an old game with new skin.

    Why not?

How is Resident Evil 4 Remake any different in terms of awards season than, like, Resident Evil 9 or whatever? It’s a completely new game, new engine, new mechanics, made by a different dev team, and it’s been completely rewritten with new writers. Sure, it has the same characters and structure, but like, so do most sequels/games in the same series? In fact, sequels often differentiate themselves less because they use the same mechanics and engine and such. Hell, this is a common argument around Zelda, that it didn’t differentiate itself enough from the first one. But none of that disqualifies a game from being a brand new achievement from its developers worthy of consideration.
