I just wasted my time with enchanting. The way enchanting and the anvil works is so dumb

If you use regular enchanting, it’s all pretty much RNG. And it can be annoying trying to get that enchantment you want.

If it’s with anvils, you have to be wary of “TOO EXPENSIVE”

I found out about the too expensive thing recently… and sadly I wasted hours of grinding just to find it out.

I have two books:
1 is for a sword
Fire Aspect 2
Sweeping Edge 3
Sharpness 5
Mending
Unbreaking 3
Looting 2

1 is for a pickaxe
Silk Touch
Unbreaking 3
Efficiency 5
Mending

I spent hours trying to find those enchantments, I even combined some enchantments because I found out you can combine the same enchantment of the same level to get the next. But now these books won’t even apply to tools/weapons because the anvil says “TOO EXPENSIVE” like ehhhh???

Now I have these two stacked books, can’t even separate their enchantments onto other books, and I just wasted hours of grinding to find out I can’t even use them.

Goodness, Enchanting needs a massive rework.
