In the past five or so years as GM. Veach has only drafted one good WR and that is Rashee Rice( who is fantastic in Zone and finds the soft spots like Kelce but struggles greatly in man coverage). My biggest fear is that Defensive Coordinators will start in the playoffs go to Man coverage very heavily like 40% of the time and the offense will be stagnant because DBS do not respect our receivers in man coverage . With news of Justyn Ross legal issues which could potentially lead to missing games and Justin Watson out with injury. We need to get a good WR who can beat man coverage consistently and put fear in defenses because of their route running and hands. The Titans are shopping Deandre hopkins and sure he has not light it up with the titans, but give him Mahomes and he will take so much pressure off of Kelce . He will be our juju but on steroids because DBS respect him a lot due to having elite hands and route running. I wish we kept Juju( despite the knee issues) because he had 930 yards receiving last years and he is a average WR by league standards. As we all know none of our receivers will get nowhere near that this year because they are WR3 type of players by league standards. Which raises the question if Veach does not like spending on receivers ? He needs to start drafting receivers with fantastic route running with the ability to beat Man and zone consistently and potentially trade up assets in the draft especially since we normally pick number 31 in the draft for them especially since the past two drafts have been our defense which Veach has greatly improved and now we have a great defense thanks to his drafting on that side of the ball. Its now time for him to focus on the offense in this year draft and give Mahomes the weapons he deserves. Mahomes has to hold on to the ball for too long because he does not trust his WRS hands and route running. The eagles even though they lost to us in SB have shown they can draft and go get players in Free agency and have weapons on offense and still get great players on defense as well through drafting and FA. They are well balanced especially since the Eagles GM has surrounded Hurts with weapons in the draft by getting Devonta Smith for him and in free agency getting AJ Brown. We just need one above average WR who can beat man and zone consistently. If Veach able to get this before deadline then the Super Bowl is guaranteed for us.
