i think 49ers have one of the top t2-3 top to bottom overall rosters in the NFL currently

course there are weaknesses in the starting lineups, notably the OT and CB depth but all contending teams IMO have question marks now and heading into the playoffs

i mean if you at DVOA right now the 49ers rank #2 and only the handful of teams who have both a top 10 ranked offense and defense

    #1 - BAL - #5 (offense), #2 (defense)

#2 - SF #1 (offense), #10 (defense) … i’d expect the defense to play better the second half of the season too with young addition and the change in scheme they played on sunday

    #3 - KC #6 (offense), #3 (defense)

    #4 DET - #4 (offense), #9 (defense)

    #5 DAL - #10 (offense), #4 (defense)

    #6 CLE - #28 (offense), #1 (defense)

    #7 MIA - #2 (offense), #22 (defense)

    #8 BUF - #3 (offense), #21 (defense)

    #9 PHI - #7 (offense), #17 (defense)

    1. CIN (#13 offense), #16 (defense)

i’d list those teams as “true contenders” at this time who could potentially make a deep playoff run … none imo are all time elite teams who look unbeatable and i’d say i wouldn’t be shocked if the 49ers are healthy and playing at near their peak that they couldn’t beat any or most of those teams by 7-10 points if they were to meet in the playoffs or even super bowl

I’m shocked to see that Detroit has the #9 defense. They just gave up a touchdown on every single San Diego possession for the final 40 minutes of their game.
