What does the HDR badge look like I can’t see anything besides the deck verified badge on app icons. Is it in the game info tab instead & not on the icon for the capsule?

    Release notes just say:

Add HDR badge to app details for games that are marked as having HDR output.

I think an important part of that sentence may be “marked as having HDR output”. I’m not entirely sure if Valve had a way previously for developers to note HDR output support on their listings. Even if they did, there’s no guarantee they would have actually indicated it in all cases.

My guess is that this is going to be a little slow to come into focus. Once the Deck OLED is out in the wild, there will probably be more impetus on developers to go update their listings to make sure support is indicated if they have not already, but it’s probably not going to be overnight.

Can confirm. I have had OLED displays on my PC for years and my Steam library is something like 600 to 700 games. Exactly four of them have an HDR badge now. I haven’t counted but I have at least 20 games with real, proper HDR support. I have more than that who claim to have HDR but it’s pretty broken.

In summary: games with proper HDR support don’t have a badge. Of the four games with the actual HDR badge, the latest Doom game is the only one I have even played. Elden Ring, for instance doesn’t have an HDR badge.
