There has been two reworks (Sombra and Hog) in the span of less than 2 months. For a competitive game such as Overwatch I’m surprised and a little confused why Blizzard isn’t letting players test the characters before release. In Overwatch 1 Experimental was utilized in almost every new patch no matter the size of the changes. Now, with new characters being released and reworked, I find it very strange as to why Blizzard doesn’t utilize it nowadays to gain early feedback from players.
I’d imagine that most players, especially those who play the game competitively, would appreciate being able to test out and provide feedback for a character before being released into the game following such immense changes. Other games such as Dead By Daylight have Public Test Builds on a monthly basis when changes are made to perks, characters, and maps. Blizzard has already demonstrated they are capable and HAVE done Experimental buildsbfor player feedback, so why aren’t they utilizing it now when, in my opinion, the game needs it most?
Is it a bad idea for Overwatch developers to offer different versions of a hero?
Like lets say I pass x amount of hero mastery for Reinhardt.
Maybe I get to modify what version of Reinhardt Im playing where now I get to burn enemies with my shield when I rush into them.
I think they could offer progression based rewards for people to play alternate versions of a hero.
