It just doesn’t belong in the game anymore. If Kiriko didn’t exist then Ana would be the strongest hero in the entire game, Kiriko is LITERALLY the only thing keeping her in check, so if your supports refuse to play Kiriko you lose. The fact that she is the only non-tank with a stun and anti is absurd and there’s a reason she’s been the most picked character for forever now. She makes half the tanks unplayable and is the strongest counterpick character in the game by far. Why are the devs contempt with her having the 2 strongest squishy abilities in the game and being the only one who has them?

I think the context here makes this much more obvious, but no, sleep dart does not need to be removed from the game.
It is a much more skill-based stun like others have mentioned, and it is easily made pointless by your own teammates especially in solo queue. Beyond that I think it’s a pretty essential piece of Ana’s kit, and removing it would IMO call for a complete rethink/rebrand of the character which blizzard would never do.
I also think it fits within their supposed priorities for this sequel, at least as they stated on launch. I think the bigger issue is that we’re seeing tanks that are weirdly presented as damage dealers rather than frontliners like Mauga and new Hog, which goes against their stated priorities completely and, in a 5v5 setup, sets those tanks up to be particularly fcked when they are up against Ana.
I also think they need to spread the cleanse ability around a bit, so that there is more than just kiriko as a response to the dart, but I doubt that we will see them do that.
Been playing since 1, it wasn’t a problem when there was 2 tanks but they never did anything to nerf her for the transition other than nerf the sleep cooldown by like 2 seconds
