People i know who’ve watched the show always told me how alike i am to Diane, i dont “hate” her, but i hate how real it is and how much i can relate. It’s like watching myself from a third point of view. I think other people can kinda relate on that, her issues and the things she does are very much real and when something real is presented in a cartoon it messes with perception. I also agree with others saying it definitely stems from misogyny, considering her to be the most feminist, and most achieving character. She’s normal and when people can relate that’s what brings out the inner self hatred.
