Hi all, I am debating getting my husband tickets to the 49ers game on Dec 31st for Christmas… The only problem is the game is at 1pm and we always host a New Year’s Eve game night.

It looks to be about a 3ish hour drive from where we are in Northeast PA. I’m OK if we get home around 8, even 9… But any later and I would feel bad for our guests LOL. My sister has offered to get the party/food started while we are gone.

I figured we could get a hotel for the night before (recommendations would be nice, we don’t need fancy or expensive though haha), not sure if there is any that would make getting to/from the stadium convenient, or if we should just park in the stadium lot or one nearby.

Or… Is this a horrible idea and I shouldn’t attempt it? My mom says I should not try it. 🤣 But he has never been to a game before and really wants to go. In fact, he suggested it for Christmas but I said I wasn’t canceling our party so too bad. 😅

Now here I am, thinking… Maybe. 🤔 Just not sure about traffic and getting caught on the way out (we likely wouldn’t want to leave early). Thoughts/opinions/suggestions appreciated please. Thanks!

You’ll be back home by 8pm. Leaving the game has been a breeze this year. I was at opening day and Thursday night football. Lots haven’t been close to full at all. Just park near the exit to be even more safe. You’ll be out by 5 latest and 3 hours to get home. 9 is worse case scenario… or see you on Christmas Eve in New York ;)
