I’ve been waiting for while now to pull the trigger on a steam deck, holding off has actually paid off as I’m now probably going to go for the OLED model if I can.

I just wanted to check if any users in here are aware if the Deck uses temporal dithering?

I’ve had headache and eye strain issues with a number of devices over the last 5 or so years and am fairly certain it’s down to temporal dithering. In most cases I’ve had to return the devices as they’ve been too uncomfortable for me to use constantly.

    Thanks for the reply!

What you’ve described sounds like temporal dithering. I’ve seen this description of temporal dithering that I think is accurate: ‘Temporal dithering is a technique graphics cards use to generate intermediate colors, by rapidly alternating a pixel between two adjacent color values’
