The Houston Rockets currently have Victor Oladipo’s expiring contract and a considerable amount of future draft picks, which may not be as valuable to them as to the teams that are entertaining the idea of a fresh start, since it seems as though they finally put together a competent roster they probably would no longer have significant minutes to allocate to develop anymore younger talent. Wouldn’t it be a good idea to give up some of the existing assets to get Alex Caruso to consolidate the team’s defensive potency even further?

Not for the asking price, imo. He’d be a great player in the rotation, but the Rockets have enough players who defend guards/wings but can’t shoot all that reliably in volume.

A backup big and shooting are the biggest needs for the Rockets.
