Militant veganism to me seems a bit OTT. If you want to make a personal choice to be vegan, that I understand. But it’s weird to present it as some obvious moral choice.
Suffering is an inherent part of existence; you can minimize it, but never eliminate it. Maximising animal welfare during farming is a completely rational trade off between minimising suffering and gaining utility.
With decent farming regulations, the life of a farm animal will probably have less suffering than that of a wild one. At worst, it would have a marginal amount more.
