After sacking that clown Del Rio, the first thing the new owners need to sort out is the ground staff. How can a field that is played on nine teams are year look so bad? How are there so many bald patches and areas of dead grass? And don’t even get me started on the training ground, that shit looks like it’s in a drought. It’s embarrassing.

Please, just get someone in who understands how grass grows.

I’m from the UK, so apologies if I get any terminology wrong.

Thanks for the replies, I’ve learnt a lot.

But it’s just so far away from what soccer pitches are. We’re talking about a multi billion dollar organisation here. The DC United pitch doesn’t look anywhere near as bad.

Soccer is 160 pound men evenly spread out jogging and running around for 90 minutes.

Football is 10 300 pound men digging in and pushing against each other on every play up and down the middle of the field for 3 hours.

The field takes 10x more punishment.

      Do an experiment.

Go run around your yard in cleats for 15 minutes with a friend.

Then find two people double your size and have them push against each other in cleats for 30 mins.

Note the difference in damage to your yard.
