I do miss this because it required teamwork and forced people to group up on your tanks to go up top and push the high ground. Now all you get is staggering constant and 0 coordination
100% TRUE! It’s all just one big deathmatch now - OW has been totally stripped of its identity. The game used to be 50% MOBA which appealed to a much wider audience.
Shield madness required zero teamwork, nobody could do anything for 2 minutes because it’s all shields, you could run a pocketed Hanzo and junkrat and you still wouldn’t be able to burn through double shield, try to push with your tanks and they and whatever shield they have get melted by a pocketed bastion, you didn’t have the luxury of using bastion on attack, mirroring wasn’t possible, you’ll get melted before you setup. only way attackers could progress is by gathering ults and hopefully using them right, you can also use a sym TP behind the shields but this doesn’t work on all maps, mostly just 2cp.

Yes. I loved how OW1 incentivized strategy, whereas OW2 just incentivizes playing the game like it’s fucking Call of Duty.
