At first everyone was saying Schroder got too much money from Toronto and so we couldn’t afford him. This is a lie, he’s making exactly the MLE.

People were also saying the offer of a starting spot enticed him. Well as it turns out we could’ve offered that too considering we broke up the Austin-DLo starting group.

There’s no longer any argument for letting Dennis walk being a justifiable move. We have no rim pressure from our guards and no POA defenders outside Gabe who’s been spotty at best in the few minutes he’s played.

Dennis was integral to last year’s team’s culture, and we can see now that this team doesn’t hang its hat on defence like it did last year.

I didn’t like it at the time, but I tried to talk myself into it being a good move. As it turns out I and many others were right, that was a disastrous mistake.

Dennis was a great defender and hit that clutch shot in Minnesota but besides that he was ass in the playoffs. Averaged 7-2-8 on 38 percent from the FIELD and had two points literally every other game. Dude was not reliable whatsoever as a backup PG. Gabe was shooting better and got a lot fewer easy looks in Miami than Dennis did here. Plus, Dennis said himself he wanted a bigger role on a team (and probably more money too) which is why he left. I’ll still take Gabe over Dennis.
