I made a list like this right before kickoff on opening night, and though it was immediately proceeded by Rodgers going down, we still somehow ended up at 4-5, which quite honestly I would have thought was impossible with Zach Wilson.

So here’s every reason I can think of to be optimistic that we might be able to make the playoffs:

  • Michael Carter is gone, likely meaning that either Abanikanda or Cook (who has looked much better as the season has gone on) will start to get carries while Breece will get more opportunities on 3rd downs.
  • I think the coaching staff has finally realized that Uzomah can no longer continue to be a starter on this offense. Ruckert is an awesome run blocker and frankly a much better receiving target than Uzomah.
  • Connor McGovern, Duane Brown, and Wes Schweitzer are/will all be eligible to return off IR.
  • If Garrett Wilson has to miss any time, even it it’s just intermittently between plays, we might finally see Jason Brownlee on the field. and there’s just no way he’s any worse than Lazard or Cobb.
  • Xavier Gipson has been looking better week to week.
  • The defense is obviously legit. There’s nobody on the schedule that I think the defense can’t handle.
  • It’s extremely improbable that the offensive issues will continue to THIS extent for the rest of the season. Ik it’s the jets, but still.

Careful, I wouldn’t want too many people to yell at you for being optimistic!!!

Actually though, all good points and reasons I don’t think JD is terrible
