I posted this to r/McCreeMains but thought i’d post it here too.

  • Activating ultimate temporarily changes several of Cassidy’s stats over the course of 6 seconds (not sure how long it should be)
  • Transformation type ultimate: cannot be cancelled or stunned by any kind of CC, only ends when timer runs out or by eliminating Cassidy
  • Properties: Critical multiplier increases from 2x to 4x (i.e. headshots go from 140 —> 280 damage) and all shots have zero damage falloff for the duration

I think Cassidy would get a lot more value from this ultimate compared to its current state. Not being stuck in place like a sitting duck waiting to get slept or hit by javelin or any other stun makes it more fun for the Cass player, while also increasing both the skill floor and skill ceiling simultaneously. Counterplay still exists like sleep dart, using shields or barriers for damage mitigation, or simply out-dueling cassidy by other means. Not to mention, this would also eliminate the bugs and issues currently associated with Deadeye.

I think this ultimate would still fit the “power fantasy” of Deadeye, which is a term the devs use a lot. It still gives the sense of Cassidy preparing to line up perfect shots to inflict serious damage, while reworking how the ultimate feels to use and play against. Thoughts?

    This is pretty broken.

This is pretty much like sojourn’s overclock on release but even more broken since there’s no damage falloff, a higher rate of fire, and higher damage for headshots. The only thing he’s lacking is sojourns mobility. This is one of those abilities that will be incredibly overpowered in higher ranks and not nearly as strong in lower ranks (like sojourn on release).

IMO I think cass would be fine if you make up for his weak ult by transferring power into the rest of his kit (like doomfist). His right click doesn’t have any real use ever since they got rid of his flash so maybe rework that and give him his old range back.
