Lions will need this help down the stretch. It’s a bandaid.
I am actually extremely confused as to what they could have possibly evaluated about Bruce Irvin which shows him to be a superior option to an essentially free Chase Young once you factor in comp picks.
I wanted Young, but BH has to think far beyond this year and doesn’t have the luxury of treating a multi-billion dollar franchise like it’s Madden. This regime has taken us from the gutter to one of the top teams in the NFL. I’m not even going to pretend I know more than them
Chase Young is on an expiring deal. His impact could be the difference between winning a losing a playoff game against the Eagles, 49ers, or Cowboys. What they’d have to give up was insignificant.
We don’t know any of the behind the scenes details. It’s not like the Lions were entitled to the exact same deal they made with SF. Maybe evaluators felt his injury risk was too high or that he isn’t a culture fit. Everyone is acting like this is a no brainer signing, but 31 other teams didn’t produce a better offer
I’d rather have Suh. Plus it’d be cool if he retired with a Superbowl ring here
SUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHH
As far as I know he hates the organization and wouldn’t come back. Maybe things have changed in the Sheila era.
Why Chase Young when you can Chase Old?
That’s funny
This defense is really concerning.
Young has the johnny manzel attitude that would be toxic to our locker room. Lions have a family mentality, not just a team. we shouldnt disrupt that
We need D Line help it’s crazy. And Manzel was a QB completely different role with way more spot light. Chase young’s job is literally to rush and watch outside runs
Ain’t about to let perfect be the enemy of good. I’m just glad they’re doing what they can to buff up our weak spots
😭😭😭
Chase Young costs $20,000,000 million a year
Bruce Irvin costs $100,000
Well we’re also not gonna be giving Bruce Irvin a big ass extension, sooooo…. There’s that
