Well after 12 years on and off playing Minecraft, I finally decided to start up my first hardcore world.
I built a little town for myself and my animals. I had beautiful crops, a nice little cottage, a big storage room, and an enchanting shed.
I decided it was time to also build my first iron farm. It took me 7 hours (I have two kids so it’s tough to find time to play). I just finished luring a couple villagers over and bred them, and within 5 minutes of the baby villager growing up, it was time to start functioning.
Well the first iron golem that appeared had spawned on my temporary stairs that I used to lure the villagers up, and in the midst of breaking the blocks, I accidentally hit the golem.
He one shot swiped me like I was a mosquito. I felt the hit marker in my heart and actually gasped, causing my wife to look over at me and ask what happened.
I have a backup from maybe 20 hours before this moment, but I don’t know if I can bear to open it and resume like nothing happened, and attempt to rebuild what I lost.
Farewell, and on to the next I guess.
I started a hardcore world with my 8 year old son and on day 19 exactly the same happened to my i accidentally hit a golem in the killing chamber of the iron farm with a shovel and he killed me.
I have been tempted to enable cheats and that allows to change from spectator to survival which in turn defaulkt to a hardcore respawn.
It is not hardcore anymore but i like that world as we found a whole shipwreck in the surface and made it our base
