I’ve always admired certain AFC teams from afar and quietly rooted for teams (unless they play the Niners.) The Chiefs used to be that team until Super Bowl 54 (sad) and I haven’t been able to pick one since, but now I have a giant football crush on the Texans.

Anyways, I was talking to my buddy about the Texans today and he said, “watch the Texans go to the SB” and it made me think about how similar your season feels to the Niners’ 2019 Super Bowl run in retrospect.

No one took us seriously prior to the season. We were still “building for the future,” had major uncertainty at QB, had “no receivers,” a young defense, new faces in the coaching staff, low win projection, “can’t win the division yet” etc etc

The win loss records are much different, but if I know anything as a Niners fan, it’s not how you start. And on top of that, you guys actually have a QB. It does not matter who you are in this league… when you have momentum and you’re playing good football, anybody can beat anybody on any Sunday. I’ve watched the past two of your games. The vibes are the exact same as 2019, I’m telling you.

I digress, lecture over. Point is: I got a really sneaky gut feeling the Texans will make a scary run. The AFC is not as narrow as some people think.

See you in the Bowl!

Lol id love to see it happen. I think we’re still too inconsistent, but who knows what will happen.

I think we’re more parallel to the lions of last year… newly good team that everyone can root for, barely misses the playoffs. After another year of draft, free agency and training together we could be scary

Texans will need two things to happen if they want to make a run excluding “health” which is rather obvious.

1.) Run game has to develop

    1. Will Anderson Jr needs to have a JJ Watt late season surge and become a borderline dominant pass rusher.

If those things don’t happen, they aren’t beating the Chiefs.
