I mean it’s 2006 technology, why doesn’t any studio want to invest in developing something like this? not even epic games ever thought of including something with that quality in the Unreal tools
Remedy has a pretty good physics system since Control. Most of the objects in their game world can be moved. With Wake 2, objects now can collide on a pixel level and deform on the fly. Its how their forest looked so fucking amazing. They also completely overhauled their locomotion system so the characters move much more naturally.
I remember in Wake 2, I was in a fight in doors and Alan bumped into a table and like all of the objects just jostled and several hit the ground. It was stunning. It’s also one of those things that is done so well most people don’t even notice it.
