Lets ignore “who is the goat” debate. Lets say Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo become managers. Who can have better manager career in your opinion?

I don’t understand why people bring up Ronaldo’s personality as a negative trait of a potential coaching career.

One of the most succesful managers of the past decades was… Jose Mourinho, the guy who called himself the special one.

Because on top of being arrogant Mourinho was tactically much better than the other coaches of his time, same went for SAF.

But on the flip side, look at Mourinho for the past years. He loses his dressing rooms pretty fast, Conte also struggled at Spurs and so on.

Guardiola is pretty arrogant himself but since he’s by far the best manager around players rally behind him and those who don’t just get sold or loaned out

Messi: Why did you not pass to your teammate? He was wide open!

His player: surrounded by half the enemy team with only the smallest opening free for the ball to pass.

Ronaldo: Why did you not jump multiple feet into the air and bicycle kick the ball into the goal?

    His player: 🫠

I don’t think either of them would make particularly good managers. Good analysts but mid tier managers.
