Hello League Community,
I’m reaching out to discuss a critical issue that’s been plaguing our game for far too long: toxic players. We’ve all experienced it – the derogatory comments, intentional feeding, and outright abusive behavior. It’s time to consider a more radical approach to purging this negativity from our community: permanent bans, including IP bans, for the worst offenders.
Why This Approach?
Recurring Toxicity: Some players consistently engage in toxic behavior, showing no sign of improvement despite temporary bans or warnings.
Deterrent Effect: Permanent and IP bans could serve as a strong deterrent for players considering engaging in such behavior.
Lasting Change: We need to send a clear message that toxicity won’t be tolerated and take decisive action to make our community healthier.
The Case for IP Bans
Preventing Recidivism: Banning by IP can prevent banned individuals from simply creating new accounts to continue their disruptive behavior.
A Stronger Stance: This approach shows a serious commitment to combating in-game toxicity and improving the overall player experience.
Challenges to Consider
Technical Feasibility: Implementing IP bans effectively, considering dynamic IPs and potential for collateral damage.
Fairness and Enforcement: Ensuring that this system is applied fairly and accurately, with a clear process for appeals.
OP, good luck.
