I drive a 2022 Polestar 2 and work remotely so I rarely need to fast charge. But once or twice a month or so, I need to take a 250 mile round trip to my job site, so any time saved at charging stations is greatly appreciated.

I’ve only utilized fast chargers three or four times, and every time the chargers are rated 150-300 kw and I only get 70-90 kw in, utilizing both Polestar’s battery preconditioning feature built into the software, as well as ensuring that I’m around 10-30% battery each time to maximize the charging curve. The Polestar 2 I believe can achieve real world max charging speed of 155kw, and other user charging curve graphs show that it shouldn’t really taper to below 100 kw until 60% or so. In the very least, I see that even at 30-40% charge should be able to hit peaks of 150kw before tapering down.

Is there any way to figure out if my car’s max charging speed is the issue, or if I was just unlucky with my chargers? 3-4 charges isn’t a huge sample size, and I also don’t have any fast chargers near me to try charging with (the nearest is about an hour out). My nearest polestar service center is also about an hour and a half away, so I’d prefer not to make the trip unless it’s the only option. Thanks!
