Jaylin Williams knocked out Poku, and shit, that’s on Poku. I type that as I think many of us saw Jaylin as that G-league who may get some rub every once and awhile. He took advantage of JRE and Poku always being injured and now I don’t wanna see the Thunder without J-Will. He does such a damn good job at being where he needs to be and doing what he needs to do. If you see him at the arc you know his man didn’t guard him and he’s taking that 3.

Poku specifically likely won’t cut it in the NBA and it’s because he isn’t that good at one specific thing. He’s not a rim protector like Chet. He’s not a facilitator like Giddey. He’s not a deep slasher like Jalen (who is shocking the hell outta me). He doesn’t have the mid-range. He is the sizzle on the steak but the steak ain’t cooked right.

I think though his meme potential kept him on a high level on the internet. Folks love memes.

Eh, when picking out the lotto, everyone is a high risk/high reward.

His play in garbage time last night tells you thay he is not going to be in the league for long. He hesitates so much even on wide open shots even when guarded by a smaller wing defender.

This sub has super homerism on our players. They feel that we are savants and Poku and Ous and everyone is going to end up being amazing.

The truth is, everyone drafted has a glimmer and a shot, but that’s far from being even a good role player in the league. That goes for current players as well.

It’s better to be a bit more objective and not get so emotionally invested in players that show signs of not being who we want them to be.

We can’t say we didn’t try. He’s been around for a couple years now and still has yet to make his mark while other guys drafter more recently have already stepped up big time (JDub, Chet, Cason, JayWill, etc.)

I hope Poku finds an NBA home but if not, I could see him being a decent player in another league

We knew this was coming for some of our favorite tank commanders. Ill miss Tre Mann too I know his time is drawling to a close. In a perfect world we wouldnt have obscene draft capitol and those guys could forego tryna to become starters and just be the best end of bench in the league. But thats not fair to them and it makes more sense for us to turn our picks into great/elite players.

WE? Naw… that’s up to others with more insight and experience.

I’m okay with whatever happens with Poku, but as always I wish the best for him
