Okay I have a bunch of people texting me that Ausar is the better twin and I disagree. Ausar gets like 35 minutes a game and hasn’t been hurt and he is playing small forward which allow him to gobble up rebounds. What do you guys think about this subject.
Amen hasn’t even played really. He played in that losing streak and that’s basically it.
We won’t know really until Amen stays on the court and plays substantive minutes. Ausar is doing amazing right now and they’re similar in many fashions bc they’re twins but Ausar has a small wingspan advantage and stronger upper body while both twins acknowledged in interviews that Amen is more explosive.
Play style distinction is Ausar is more defensive oriented and Amen is a playmaker but they both still have a bit of both (Ausar has great connector passing vision and Amen has shown defensive flashes). They did this to compliment each other to be able to stay on the court together growing up. I’m cheering for Ausar and think it’s good for Amen to see since he’s hyper competitive in a healthy way with his brother.
I would only respond with acknowledgment that Ausar is awesome and Amen hasn’t had the opportunities yet but they will see!
A bunch of people are randomly texting you this independently?
All Rockets haters because they know I’m a huge Rockets fan.
Thank you guys I get pissed when people say we drafted the wrong twin and Amen was rated higher on everyone’s draft board and also Amen flashed talent in his one summer league game. I know both twins talk smack with each other, so that may push Amen to work harder with Ben Sullivan. Honestly his ankle, went out in summer league and now the regular season makes me wonder does he have weak ankles or was it just a fluke in the summer and regular season. Yes Ausar is making a name for himself just tired of being trolled by Rockets haters and when I use that argument that Detroit sucks the reply is like oh the Rockets are contenders and they laugh.
Ausar is getting a ton of run with a very bad team. If his team was better he wouldn’t have the rebounding opportunities he gets. It’s similar to KJ Martin getting a bunch of blocks or rebounds for us but now he can’t get minutes on teams trying to make the playoffs.
Ausar and Amen are both gonna be great players but I wouldn’t look at some of those counting stats for the guy getting major minutes on the worst team in the NBA, on a 9 game losing streak I might add, to make major assertions on their future when the other guy’s in a walking boot.
