I know this question has been asked in the past lots of times but i could not find specific answer for my use case. For context, I already have a system with Z490 with i5-10400, 3200 cl16 ddr4 RAM and 3060TI(gonna upgrade in future) and want to upgrade the CPU. Generally I am using my pc for programming, game development and often running docker or 1-2 virtual machines at the time on top the actual OS. If my use case only required gaming I would have gone for 11700k but 10850K’s 10 core seems more suitable for virtual machines. Also if I go for 11700K how is overclocking potential compared to 10850K?

So what do you guys suggest to me? prices for both cpu are relatively same with 15-20 bucks difference(11700k being cheaper). Thanks in advance
