Currently after 10 games Haliburton has been having a career year averaging 24.7 points and a league high 12.5 assists per game. He’s also doing this while only having 2 turnovers per game and an insane 67% true shooting percentage ( His regular shooting numbers are also ridiculous with 52.8 FG% - 43.6 3P% - 93.2 FT%)
At this moment in time the Pacers have the highest Offensive rating in the league and Haliburton is the engine that has this team humming. He has the highest Offensive Rating in the NBA and the second highest Offensive Box-Plus Minus only behind, you guessed it, Jokic. He also has the highest assist percentage in the league at 50.6%, for reference Nash in 07’ had an assist percentage of 50.1%.
I just feel like his impact is on the path to be a version of Steve Nash where he’s facilitating the entire teams offense while still being aggressive himself yet still uber efficient. We all know that Nash is one of the most efficient players ever. I mean the guy has the most 50-40-90 seasons in nba history but a lot of us wondered how it would look if Nash decided to jack up just a few more shots. The most FGA Nash has ever shot was 13.4 attempts with 4.3 of them coming from the 3. Now enters Tyrese Haliburton where after 10 games is taking 16.3 attempts with 7.8 of those attempts coming from the 3 point line.
We don’t see too many traditional points guards coming into the NBA anymore but Tyrese fits this hybrid role where he blends the 3 points revolution along with the traditional point guard role very seamlessly. I just feel like we’re watching someone similar to Steve Nash but with more of a green light to shoot. Now I know it’s still early in his career and this is only a 10 game sample size but to be fair Tyrese is only 23 years old and will only continue to get better. Pacers are in good hands for the years to come.
Andre Miller 2.0
Very likely
And both of them have a quite optimal roster around them
