    Even Dungy and Coughlin are bad examples. They prove the point we should move on. Dungy won in his 4th year in Indy (his second team). He was the defensive coach that couldn’t get over the hump in Tampa.

    Same for Coughlin. Didn’t work out in Jacksonville and then won in his 4th year in NY.

    McDermott is on year 7. The fact is coaching messages and culture changes get stale after a while. That’s why almost every coach in the last many years that even made the Super Bowl besides Belichick and Reid were in their first 5 years.
