Move Sochan to the bench and start Tre. Sochan is not a good fit with the rest of the lineup, he’s not polished enough and especially not able to handle ball handling duties.

*Lowest 3P% on “Wide-Open” 3s 2023

  1. Tre Jones—24.8%

  2. Sochan—25.5%

  3. Giannis—27.1%

  4. Jaylen Nowell—28.3%

  5. Nassir Little—29.3%

Keldon cannot be benched for Tre, this would leave a massive shooting problem leaving Devin as our only consistent 3 point shooter besides Wemby. Zach, Tre and Sochan will never work.

Wemby and Zach looked great on defense and solid on offense, having Sochan for extra defense is too big of an offensive sacrifice. Tre needs to start and help facilitate the ball until we can get our guy at the PG spot. Sochan is not ready yet.

Well the problem is Jeremy is what he is, a glue guy, you’re asking him to be someone he’s not, he’s an off ball scorer, great passing iq, and defensive anchor, every team especially every competitive team needs a sochan or Bruce brown or draymond. And really when we talk about the roles of the starting lineup and bench we have to highlight what it is each person does separate from the other, we have our 2 primary scoring options in Dev and Vic, again Jeremy anchor, Zach big body/stretch shooter, and then there’s keldon also a scorer but not consistent and requires the ball to be effective. In all honesty tre should be the starting pg, you’re right about that, low turnover/assist ratio, and doesn’t demand the ball to score. Now with your theory sochan off the bench doesn’t make sense bc like you even mention he’s not the best shooter still, not a polished passer yet, and most of all he’s not an aggressive scorer, so really how is he going to be more effective off the bench? He won’t lol. Now keldon on the other hand should be on the bench, and it’s no disrespect to keldon, he’s fantastic no doubt, but like I previously said we already have 2 solid scoring options on the starting lineup, and Zach is also a solid 3rd scoring option with what he offers separately with his post work. With keldon off the bench he’ll be allowed to play to his strengths, truthfully we lack a scorer for the 2nd unit so he’ll automatically be the primary option again, and it’s perfect bc he’s a high energy spark plug which is what exactly makes a player an elite 6th man in this league. We can agree to disagree what considers sochan “ready” to be a starter, but in all fairness I would prefer him as the starting 3 over keldon solely due to his defensive ability and off ball movement, rather than keldon taking touches from the actual scorers.
