I’ve heard a lot of people say on here “call a local mom and pop print place, they’ll do it dirt cheap.” I did that today, and they wanted $60 just to print 250! The cheapest I’ve found so far is office depot and staples: which is about $25 for 250 and that is with a discount. I’m basically looking for the best bulk pricing. Are there any places that offer a yearly membership which discounts prints/services? The thing is, the cards aren’t actually for me. I make business card designs, then the people who are buying the design from me usually want me to print them as well. This is the part I don’t make money on, technically. I could charge a small convenience fee for doing the printing, but I don’t want my cost to be outrageous for the customer. Thoughts/recommendations? Is there a smarter way I could be doing this? TIA
I know this isn’t the answer you were looking for, but here it is anyway.
Why in the world would you want to put your designs on cheap business cards? A business card is often your first impression. The price difference between a cheap card and a good card is not so big that you shouldn’t do it. $0.10 a card is stupidly cheap and I don’t know if you could reach that without printing your own.
I use moo.com, and you get exceptional quality that stands out. I can’t recommend them enough. You DO save money for higher orders and they do discounts for vendors. They have tech to allow multiple designs for one side of the card allowing you to print cards with many different names. But they are by no means cheap.
No idea why people always say mom and pop shop, usually those are the most expensive because they cannot afford lower price than bigger shops. It’s rare to find one without them barely making a profit.
I would charge a percentage on top of the cost, you are taking the time to prep, send and receive the cards.
Anything out of your usual service because people do not know or too lazy too, you should charge extra on top of the cost.
You can order from me, I’m in China and it will have a good price
